Motorcycling holidays across India: ‘the only attractions are the people & the culture’

This was an early morning when waiting for the fellow riders in a heritage hotel. The hotel was located in small heritage town of north india. While entering Marc pointed out towards a book what I was reading joyously.”A Call To Honour”, a book revealing the myths and actuality of Rajasthan.
I was hosting a group of riders from England, Australia & Italy in Jan 2017. Every team member was feeling great as they were witnessing the different culture at the very next stay during the 2700 Kms route. The route was consisting of different type of way highways, link roads, sometimes covered with sand over the road.
Now writing about the Rajasthan Motorcycling; it seems that it doesn’t need any further introduction. Because any prospective rider can gather a lot of information for the same. The purpose of sharing the experience is to provide more related insights.

Rajasthan Mural Arts

Mural Art is simply paintings on the wall of house, depicting the impression of the society. In North-East Rajasthan’s area, you can see the paintings – more than some hundreds year old. You can see the cultural intervention through art. Though the buildings are old but the paintings are more live.

Rajasthani Food

Rajasthani Food
Rajasthan is under semi arid zone. It means that in old days, just 40 yrs ago. There were limited resources of water and the life style was more or less; conserving the water. The food was rain based crops or dried vegetables. But the food was having a very good blend of flavors and species. You may call it as royal food. The feeding would begin as soon as I walked through the door – plates of roasted snacks, sweets and tea. A guidebook will point you to the forts, palaces and heritage buildings but Rajasthan’s real beauty is in its culture and people. Travelling by motorcycle made easy for you to explore it at the utmost. In Rajasthan you will feel that the religion is perfectly blended with the beliefs of the people. The deeper you dig, the more intrigued and enamoured you become. This is some kind of experience that only can be experienced through riding only.
